Hi guys and congrats to all who passed the exam.

I had interview with one of the accounting firms and got rejected yesterday.

I killed myself for the interview, and worked really really hard.

It really really hurts me a lot even though it had been almost a day since I heard the news, and I am so disappointed and upset about this. I don’t know how to handle this situation…

Guys I would really appreciate a lot if you can give me an advice on how I can handle this situation and share experiences on how you guys went through it. Thanks!

“Is it normal to be super depressed and see no hope of living after rejection letter? “

Coming from someone who suffered from major depression and on the verge of suicide during her college years, you sound like a person who is depressed on a regular basis. And I can tell you, that will come across in job interviews. If you are not a joyful person or confident, that will show up.

Maybe you need to go talk to someone before you continue your interviewing to make sure you aren't suffering from other issues. I can promise you, it won't get any better only worse. A depressed person can have the greatest job in the world but they will unconsciously sabotage it with lackluster performance.

Life didn't get better for me until I identified my issues and prayed a lot. I'm still not where I want to be and I made a lot of bad choices along the way but I'm content. I'm 34 years old and a single mommy but through all of it, its all good.

Get some help because whining on the forums isn't going to help you at all. Been there done that.

P.s. Perfectionists have a tendency to not be happy people. The minute things don't go the way we plan, we get all bent out of shape. Don't be so hard on yourself is my advice and realize we will fall short.

Guys I think the advises given so far are good but there is a missing link which I think will help our good friend and others that is understanding from the recruiter perspective why the interviewee was not picked. This is real problem with the recruiters they just will not provide you with a candid feedback on why you were not picked but just a simple word you are not a good fit for our company!!! So the question that arises is what defines a good fit? This is the direction we should talk to. Is it the age,the dress at the interview , the response to the questions,or gut feeling. Recruiters most of time do help matters as they are not BOLD to tell the interviewees that it is because of A,B,C…. that is why they were not hired but hide behind not being a good fit for the company. It is rather unfortunate and this situation has risen because of the unemployment rate in the country as at now..oslife just take heart, pray and believe that one day you'll get right job . Please keep your self busy by seeking for “low” jobs while looking for the big hit..

    Thanks you guys

The fact that I was putting too much hope for the interview was the major reason why I was very disappointed.

But I really found out that I have lots of awesome people around me, including you guys, since I got the rejection. This person who I know, who can barely read, researched about Accounting jobs and suggested me to apply for the jobs. I couldn't stop crying when I learned that I have so many amazing people around me.

I guess everyone goes through the process once in a while in their lifetime. I will keep that bad news is not necessarily a bad news but often a good news in my mind.
