what is the best plan of attack to score an interview?

should i ask to speak with a particular person? (HR manager/Partner/etc)

should i introduce myself to everyone i encounter at the firm?

    keep it simple?

if anyone has any advice i’d greatly appreciate it. by the way, one is a top 10 national firm and the other is a large local firm. thank you

this is the best i've found:

If you decide to supplement your “proper” application with a hand-delivered hard copy, be sure to follow these rules of resume-delivery etiquette:

Dress the part (business casual should suffice).

Respect the staff’s time and privacy—remember you’re interrupting their workday.

Do not ask to see the hiring manager, request an appointment, or make any other demands.

Identify yourself, the job you’re interested in, that you’ve applied through the proper channels, and that you’re just dropping off an extra copy of your resume and cover letter.

Thank the person for their time, and say you hope you’ll be considered for the job.

….by the way, this would be in addition to having already submitting my resume online. i would be hesitant to show up in person at the top 10 firm, but i've already been there (interviewed with the staffing agency located in their office) and plus its summer and the culture here is more easy going.
