How would i indicate I am actively pursuing my CPA (passed my first section) and also taking courses to obtain the required 150 but not degree seeking. This is somewhat how it looks, I’m taking the additional courses at another school as I relocated for a new position.

    EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS

    XXX UNIVERSITY – ACCOUNTING, ????

    XXX UNIVERSITY– ACCOUNTING, BSBA

    Beta Alpha Psi

Please let me know how you would do it, or if I should clarify. Thank youuu!

I wouldn't include either on your resume. Perhaps bring it up in your cover letter. Definitely mention it in the interview.

This is what I was thinking:

    EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS

    XXX UNIVERSITY – ACCOUNTING

    Non-Degree Seeking – 143/150 completed hours

    XXX UNIVERSITY– ACCOUNTING, BSBA

    Beta Alpha Psi

Thank you Minimorty, that is definitely an option. I just thought there may be a way that people normally show this on their resume. If not I will probably just include it in the cover letter.

I have “eligible to sit for CPA exam” as a line on my resume.

I did the same thing as kmwgrace: “Eligible to sit for the CPA Examination”

I would definitely include it on your resume if it's for a company/firm that will be looking for future CPAs. It clarifies your intentions and can help land you an interview.

What I've seen people do is add a certifications section and add CPA exam and list the exams you've passed as well as the score, list the exams to be taken as well as the date you plan on taking it. Since you are already sitting for the exam, I would not put “Eligible to sit for the CPA Examination”

I've done recruiting for my firm and by putting eligible to sit for exam doesn't really impress me. My question would be, why aren't you currently sitting for the exam if you're eligible? How serious are you about the exam? But nonetheless, like everyone has said, at least it shows your intent.

    My 2 cents

just a FYI….today I interviewed with a staffing agency who is located in the office of one of the top 10 US accounting firms downtown here…the staffing manager I interviewed with informed me I should include CPA sections passed and how many credit hours completed on the resume. she told me often times cover letters are overlooked!

i am going to add the sections passed and i already have the 150 units. how do i add it to the resume. it makes sense to put it on there because if you are lacking major experience such as myself, its the only viable way to get noticed. I have been passed up im sure many times because I dont have that on my resume. I just took BEC (first test) the other day, but i have every intent of putting it on my resume. any ideas how. I havnt found a sample through google. any suggestions would be grateful!
