I am considering relocating back to my hometown. I’ve been away for 10 years and I have lost pretty much all of the business connections that I used to have. If I do relocate, I will be looking for an accounting job. This will be a career change of sorts for me (I’ve been doing Corp. Accounting for a little over a year). Does anyone have any advice on finding an accounting recruiter? My hometown is not terribly larger, but it does have a decent accounting presence. If you used a recruiter, how did you find them? Yellow Pages? Google? LinkedIn? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I'd just start with Google. Your best bet is probably a local firm that specializes in your area rather than a huge national company. I'd also try and find a company that JUST does finance and accounting.

I found a great recruiter by using LinkedIn. I just did a search for the area in which I was moving and contacted a couple recruiters. The first one I contacted responded to my invitation and I ended up getting a job through them.

Linkedin is a great resource. Recruiters are constantly looking for new candidates to place.

Just connect with one in the area you are looking to move to and strike up a conversation.
