What if I can not find something I really dislike, except for the less salary? How to answer questions like this?

Tough call; being honest here makes it look like you'd bail on them if any other higher offer comes by.

How much of a raise are we talking about here? If you can say something like “<My Employer> pays far less than the industry standard”. Sounds a lot better than “I left because I can make 5k more a year here”.

It must be a lot though, not a lot of people can say that they don't dislike anything about their work environment!

Personally, I would say I liked the people, culture and environment at my current/last job. I would say that those are some of the things that I put priority in when deciding on whether to work for a certain company. I would then say that I'm looking for new challenges and feel the need to branch out and gain experience in other areas.

This might not exactly answer the “like/dislike” question, but honestly most interviewers aren't really going to question every little thing you say. The big thing about interviews is framing their questions into what you want to say and being adaptable to the questions they throw at you.

I had a contract job with a company north of my home, and it wasn't designed to be full time. I got this question, and the guy cut me off and said, “Hey, it's not full time”.

I then told him, “Their coffee is really bad”, to the amusement of all in attendance. It helped me lighten up a little, but I truly had nothing bad to say. The head count was full, else an offer was in my future.

I would just say that you're “looking for a new opportunity”. Most people will understand that, and it has the benefit of being 100% true. I wish there was a magic bullet answer.

Thank you all for the above replies. It is not an easy question to answer. I will try to think it carefully.
