    The only tax people I've ever seen leave the office were like Managers and Up to talk to clients and I'm pretty sure those are all local. If you're just coming in as staff and expecting to do only tax I wouldn't really expect any travel whatsoever.

    At my firm tax staff literally never leave the office at all. Except for CPE trips. That's why I'm glad I'm in audit, because I don't have to fly all over the country with my current position, but I get to leave the office for audits and work with the clients. Really helps to get to know your co-workers well since you're working with them so much. However if you're worried about travel, you should have little to none. At my firm we do some bookkeeping too and the bookkeepers go to clients more than tax staff.
