Hi,
I am in advisory at a big 4 firm, basically doing General IT controls testing since last july. I really struggled with the work at start but now it seems to make a little sense, but frankly speaking I think the work is very boring. Also I think if I stay in this current role for long, I will only get offers for IT compliance type jobs which is not what I want to do in long term. I woild like ti be a financial analyst when I switch to industry but I am not sure if I will be considered seriously even when I have passed the cpa exam.
Also the manager with whom I work mostly is really annoying to work with. He gave me a 4 rating on a project for being overbudget, because I did stuff that was not originally assigned to me and I had to do it because 2 seniors left the firm. I just don’t want to risk my career by working with him again. Should I just ask ny firm to move me to audit? Then I stay there for 1 more year and then make the switch to industry? Or is it the same if I transfer to industry right now or later?
