    I have totally been MIA for awhile from this forum and from studying! It is so true what they say about not having any time once you start your career!! I am into my 4th week at a Big 4 and barely have enough time to sleep before the next day is here!

    Anyway, I need some advice on what to give as a hostess gift at a Christmas party. It is at a partner’s house and the partner is a fairly young woman maybe in her late 30’s or 40 at the most. I am just not sure what to arrive with. I thought a nice vase of flowers or the typical bottle of wine, but is there anything else anyone suggests?

    Thanks!!!!

    I am finally DONE!

    Great to hear from you! You sound crazy busy…I hope you are enjoying the new job. I would probably do the bottle of wine (especially if she is a wine drinker) or maybe stop by a Williams &Sonoma and pick up a small gift there. (appetizer spreaders,wine bottle coaster, for example)

    Good luck!

    Yankee's suggestions are good. You might also consider something that if she chose to, she could put out at the party, like a selection of exotic cheeses.

    Im a fan of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and usually bring a small box of fudge or toffee. Especially around the holidays. She can either keep it for herself or put it out for the party, then everyone can say “oh wow, who brought these?” and then it starts a conversation about you etc. Edible Arrangements are also good. Wine is good if you know she likes wine, but if you arent sure go with something more neutral.

    Things are moving along. I am working (contract labor) for a prior client, which is great. Looking for full time work-not so great!! I am sitting for REG and Audit ( In November) so that I can finish this craziness. I took both of these over the summer and didn't pass either-summer studying doesn't work for me 🙁

    Hoping that I will finish this in 2011. I forgot were you are at…..I will take a look at your blog to catch up..I know you are busy. But I also know that you will git ‘r done! So glad your job is good—tax or audit–I forgot!

    Take care and good luck this window!

    @Yankee

    We share the same boat my friend. REG on Nov. 14th and retake AUD in January. My plan did not go anything like I had hoped…oh well. My blog has been neglected, but I plan to update this weekend. Time is flying by!!

    I am at KPMG in Audit. I really like it!

    Good luck to you as well! I really hope we both can cross the finish line this time!!
