I’m currently an accountant at a tech company in the Bay Area. I’ve taken BEC 3 times and failed. Ever since I failed, I stopped studying for CPA. However I’m forced by parents to keep going.

I guess the CPA doesn’t hurt because I need opportunities to get a good accounting job. The problem is I don’t know what to do after my current job. There is internal audit and financial analyst/FP&A. My aunt thinks I’m capable of doing internal audit because my job right now is A/R and Revenue. I had experience in A/P at my previous job. Can someone tell me what internal audit is like? Can I be good in that field? If not, what other fields I can be good at? I know internal audit requires a CPA, but can I be okay with other licenses in internal audit without CPA?

I thought about my study habits. I notice that whatever I pursue, I cannot do it by myself, unless my life is depended on it. In order to get the best of myself, I have someone guide me. Currently, I have BECKER. Can someone recommend me a live course or tutor? I know BECKER has them, but I heard mixed reviews.

You need to want the CPA for yourself, not just because your parents want you to do it. It's a hard exam and you need to get motivated.

I agree. I've seen people who got to the top without the CPA or any licenses. However, I look at that as it's a dream and I need a backup plan.
