    …another finance related position?

I am interested in hearing stories about life after public accounting, but most particularly investment banking and other competitive/lucrative fields.

Also, what are all the ways you think obtaining a CPA helps in your future other than an accounting related position? (Need some motivation 🙂 )

You need to get MBA from top business school if you want to make a switch to High paying finance jobs (Investment banking, private equity, asset management). CPA is helpful in Corporate Finance but not so much in other areas.

MBA really? Is that typically a requirement? Specialization in Finance I'm assuming? (Have been working public for a few years so just starting to research new opportunities again)

Yes most of the time, its require having MBA from top business school. Even those who started in investment banking, private equity after undergrad, required to leave after 2 years to get their MBA.
