Hi all,
So I’m finishing up Y1 at a Big 4 firm and, on a whim, I decided to throw my hat into the ring for some rotational programs. My long-term interest is more in corporate finance than just accounting and they seemed somewhat interesting because I would get to see a variety of roles instead of just auditing, for example. A couple of recruiters have contacted me, and now I actually have to start doing research in case I need to make a decision.
Has anyone done one of these programs and willing to share their experience? I know that I’ll probably have to do a rotation in an accounting program for at least 1-2 of them, but the chance to get more exposure to finance early on may be beneficial. My question is moreso if anyone thinks doing this has harmed their career? Let’s be real, this is a slightly newer concept and less battle-tested, so I just don’t want to potentially leave the well-worn path and end up realizing that I set myself back compared to if I had stayed in public.
I really don’t like auditing though, and that’s why I’m looking ot consider other alternatives. If anyone can chime in, I would greatly appreciate it.
