Well, after being cut after tax season. I applied to a local manufacturing firm on indeed. I assumed my chances would be slim since there is so much competition, but gave it a shot. I had two interviews and told them the reason I got let go was because it was a temporary position. This place seems to have a good culture, and my boss said I can ask questions after I work out the problem on my own. He also would give me small tasks to get my feet wet and then let me progress once I am used to the system. I would start out doing some accounts payable, but then branch out in cost accounting and budgeting. I may fill in every once in a while in the ordering process to make the sure the customer’s inventory is delivered. Do you guys have any advice going from public to private? Thanks

Haha there is not too many pretty girls where I work, probably a good thing less distracted. I'll save all of my grinding for the girls at the bar after work lol.

Never worked in public but here's my advice for private….learn everything you can about the business from how they receive items to how they collect past due bills. Find ways to create efficiencies, do tasks you're not asked to do, etc. The more valuable you make yourself the more job security you'll have.
