UpWork, formerly ODesk, is a site I was looking at for work at one point. Most if it was very small jobs (few hours or a day, maybe a week as a long one) so would probably be best used to supplement something else that was fairly full-time, and you've got to pick-and-choose a lot cause many things on there are looking for just the cheapest labor which they can get internationally, but there were some that were of potential interest. However, I never ended up getting any work through there, cause about the time I figured out what I was doing with it, I got a new job which was more hours so my desire for side work diminshed greatly. :\

I've used FlexJobs to look for remote, full-time, employment opportunities (employee-type, not contract-type), but have seen part-time, contract, and freelance work on there too.
