For example, is it best to start at a public accounting firm or a government law enforcement department

I'm not sure what the “best” way is, but I was able to start in audit at a public accounting firm and do a rotation in the Forensics and Litigation Support department. Public accounting firms seem to want you to start in audit so you have a foundation of accounting concepts and application before you can go sniffing out fraud.

    BEC - 68, 76
    AUD - 90, 91
    FAR - 63, 83
    REG - 55, 79

    FINALLY DONE!
