Have been laid off for going on 9 months! Worked as a Staff and then promoted to Senior Accountant at a small hospice in Georgia for 3.5 years. Was laid off because they were acquired in an acquisition.

Moved back in with the family, uprooted my life to move to Texas and studying for the CPA exam, again, and this time I will pass.

Looking for jobs in the Houston, TX area, but they all need freaking prior energy accounting experience! Had an interview with a Fortune 100 company, and they ran my background check and I check on their site 10 times a day to see if I am still in consideration.

Have you checked in with any of the local recruiting firms in Houston, i.e., Robert Half, Accounting Principals, etc? Positions at your level should be easy to come by. Maybe you're not availing yourself to the options in that area.
