I just interviewed for a budgeting analysts role. The lady said it’s fast paced- which is a shock to me because I can’t imagine how fast paced can budgeting be. I’d have to analyze spending and see how close we are to exhausting budget. Have you ever worked in budgeting? What was it like? In case this matters, this is a government job.

I am a fed accountant who works with budget analysts and they do seem very busy. I don’t think it is difficult work once you learn the funds and systems. Pay is good. Benefits are great.

Budgeting can be a fast-paced job, especially in a government setting where there may be many different programs and initiatives that require careful tracking of expenditures. As a budget analyst, you would be responsible for analyzing spending and monitoring the organization's budget to ensure that it is being used efficiently and effectively. This may involve working closely with other departments or programs within the organization to understand their budget needs and to help them stay within their allocated funds.
