    I am sending out emails to local CPA firms for jobs. Need help with one or two lines.

    So far,

    To Whom it May Concern:

    I am pleased to say that I recently passed all four parts of the CPA Examination, which I believed makes me a great candidate for your Accountant I position as advertised on your company’s website

    Please kindly review and see if I can be a good fit with your company.

    Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yeah…I should clarify, it's not that I think email contacts never work, as Cessna's story clearly illustrates! My point was more that the physical drop-off is a higher “level” of contact – an email can be dismissed more easily, something physically in their hand makes them think about it at least for a minute. So definitely nothing wrong with starting the process via email…because sometimes, email works. And if it doesn't, then you can follow up in person later on.

    @jsimus

    Treat it like cold calling, except ask to speak to a hiring manager as well. That way they can size you up and put a face to the name.
