Does 1 year of experience look negatively on resume?

I took a tax position in industry. Does it hurt negatively if I leave the company after one year? The position is not in my preferred geographic area, and it was difficult to find a position in that area without experience.

I would line up the second job before leaving. If you are at the second job for at least 3-5 years then no one will care you left the first job after a year. It becomes an issue if you have only been at the past 3 jobs for a year each…..but if you can get a second job lined upp then there is no reason you cant leave

    Aud-75 3x I knew i never liked you
Bec-77 1x being in the bubble is stressful
Reg-82 4x its not me its you...and no we cant be friends

Every few months is not normal. Even every year isn't good unless it's for a promotion. A potential employer will think you'll leave them in a year or two based on past history and won't be willing to hire you. Of course there are exceptions but it's hard to predict what other people's logic is.

    I like taxman's reply.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14
