I work at a small CPA firm of about 50 people. It’s my first season and I’m amazed at how crazy the hours are. I think I heard someone say that their firm paid a bonus at the end of tax season. Is this typical? How big of a bonus is it?

At our firm, we technically don't get a bonus at the end, but we get paid time and a half for every hour of overtime we work which REALLY adds up. And instead of getting one big bonus at the end, we get our overtime pay at each normal pay period. Ends up being a nice, extra amount of money.

We do get a bonus but it is in December. And we can bank OT or get paid out at our regular rate.

Small firm here, only 5 CPA's, OT can be paid out or used for extra days off. Also, a year end bonus. But I never related the bonus to tax season… it's more a Merry Christmas Bonus. Boss gives it out right before Christmas.
