So I may be a little ahead of myself here since I am still down on AUD but I still wanted to ask the question. I am a serial entrepreneur by heart and have been lucky enough to own two businesses up to returning to school to get my accounting degree, while I am very old by A71 standards at 34, I think there is plenty of life left in me. So my question to all the bright young bucks or anyone else that has an idea, in your opinion, what would you look for in a site if you were a CPA customer? Does anyone know a cost effective way to build a site? (Um, Jeff talking to you) 🙂 Thanks for your help.

Second: Are you looking for a basic website with a couple of pages that say who you are and what you do or are you looking for a full blown looks like A71 with a chat kind of thing? If it's the first one then you can do it yourself with a little research on the internet. If it's the second then you need Jeff's IT Ninjas!

You need someone to do a WordPress install with a business theme.

Most accounting websites suck.

People barf info all over them.

“We are XYZ CPA firm… Here is our blog … Twitter … Hey! Like us on Facebook!!! Want some free tax articles? Did we mention we are on Facebook? Wow – we have so much info to share that we use 3 columns!!”

Ask yourself this: when a potential client lands … You want them to do ____

Call you?

…

Then promote that action and very little else.

(only do this of you want to make money 🙂

I always thought I could design a better website than most accounting firms. I can't believe some of the amazing marketing websites I've seen. Accounting firms should take note.
