Hey all, hope the studying is going well.
Wanted to toss a question here for some of the people in the accounting industry:
Right now I’m a systems engineer (accounting degree and just finished my MBA). I’m going to start using Ninja to study for my CPA (finally add it to my CISA) and get that certification. My question is more of a mentoring type request/right direction to go- using my technical background, what routes are most viable to move into the accounting world? I’ve worked with CEOs, CFOs, etc. for project management, budgeting and justification- so the business side of me has never been lost, but I’ve been in mostly a technical role for the last 10 years after I left my initial accounting role.
How would any seasoned vet here approach changing the career path? I’m just over the IT sector right now and the constant on-call, issues that are always there, burnout of security management…it would be nice to just be an end user. 🙂
Any thoughts, or recommendations is so appreciated.
