I am a controller and need my 2 years experience letter sign off for CPA license. It doesnt make sense to go backward for a lower title to get this sign off… but i want to get my cpa license as i spent so many years to pass it.
I am curious if anyone have similar or hear situation like this ?

Depends on your state rules, in MA the experience has to be in public accounting so I would have had no choice than to go to a basically entry level position. Fortunately I have a masters degree and was able to get a non reporting license. If you just need to work under a CPA its possible to find a controller level job that reports to someone who has a license. But be prepared if you want the license you may have to make some concessions.
