    Hi guys,

I graduated last May with a degree in Accounting Information Systems and an Econ minor. As of now, I have completed REG, AUD, and BEC. Undergrad was rough, I ended with a 2.8 overall and I have zero internships under my belt. The only limited “tax” experience I have is a four month tax preparer position at Liberty Tax.

Coming from a very entrepreneurial family, I was the first one to go to college and the only work experience I have is working in the family business which I know inside out. It has taught me a lot but I want to go into Public Accounting and actually get my CPA license after putting in so much time/effort/money into the CPA exams.

Do you recommend I go back and get a Masters in Tax and go through the recruiting process or just apply to entry level staff accountant positions?

    BEC - PASSED
    AUD - PASSED
    REG - PASSED
    FAR - PASSED

I think it depends upon if you need money now or not. I would not go back for another degree if I passed the CPA exam. some people are fascinated with going to school. I would start at an entry level staff position, get experience then move to what you really want do.

    It begins with a 75

If you want to, go back to school and get masters. Obviously just make sure you do well and get your gpa above 3.0+. However, if I was you, I would just look for a job at a cpa firm or private making sure you work under a cpa so you can have them write off your experience. Congrats on passing the cpa exam. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about your gpa because passing the CPA seems to be the most important thing to cpa firms and professional in accounting. I wouldn't list my gpa in my resume if i was you but would make sure to let them know I passed all 4 parts of the exam in resume or cover letter.
