Hi guys! I’ve seen some questions on here about CPAs and IT, so I wanted to get some feedback.
I have been doing accounting for about 5 years now, have passed all of the CPA exams (just waiting on my license), but I don’t think I want to be doing accounting for the rest of my life. I have recently started looking into either getting a certificate of a master’s in cyber security from my local university. The certificate program is about 4 classes, 8k, and I would finish in about 6 months. If I decide to continue and pursue the master’s, all the classes from the certificate are transferable.
I’ve heard from others that it is helpful for CPAs to have some sort of cyber security background, but don’t want to feel like I wasted time getting my CPA license to just move to another field.
