Does anyone have a good example (besides on Google) of a cover letter? I’m starting to apply for real accounting jobs and I’m desperately in need of good cover letter. I’m half way done with CPA exams and I would like to add that, show my strengths, etc.

Thank you in advance, i appreciate it:!)

I have a good example that is finally getting me favorable responses. I marked it up with things you should note…but I don't know how to upload an attachment (or if we even can). So if you email me at PeachtreeND at gmail dot com I'll email it to you (it's in word 2010 so if you need it in another format please let me know)

If you don't mind, I would be very interested in this as well. I'm quite rusty and my current letter sounds very dry and boring.

University's often have good information online.

If you google “cover letter” .edu (or something like that), you should get several cover letter writing guides/examples from various career services across the country. Good career center sites have guides with examples for cover letters, resumes, thank you letters, networking letters, interview tips,….etc.

My own advice: Keep it short and sweet & to the point. Recruiters don't want to read a whole bunch of text (no matter how special you think you are). The more text you have, the less likely they will actually read all of it. Make your words count.

Don't use your cover letter to just repeat what's on your resume (they have that already!). Instead use it to emphasize certain desirable qualities/characteristics that you have.

Thank you for the advice, I will look into the .edu websites. I was googling samples before but as the other poster said wanted to see some real cover letters other than googles.
