    Hi everyone,

I am a Senior this year in college with no public accounting internships. I was wondering if I should do a Masters in Taxation at my small private school (Goldey-Beacom College) or at LSU Shrevport as they are the same price for my 150 credit hours. I want to land a Big 4 internship but my school sadly is not a target. My current internship is in Finance/Accounting but not really doing accounting. What should I do?

    Thank You!

Did you talk to your school career advisor or accounting professors? They are good resources in local professional networking

If you’re in that area, you might also check out the Masters in Accountancy at Louisiana Tech. Good program, affordable, and the College has strong ties with KPMG and Deloitte in particular.

I personally wouldn't even bother with a master if you aren't going to a target school with a lot of recruitment. Waste of money and waste of time IMO.

Always think for the future. Consider the school's accreditation in case you ever wanted to obtain a doctorate later.

LSU-Shreveport is AACSB accredited (gold standard). Goldey-Beacom College is ACBSP (a VERY distant second accreditation). The differences are likely why recruiters aren't showing up at Goldey-Beacom.

    LSU-Shreveport all the way!
