I am hoping to find out i actually passed my final part come monday, but who knows.
i’ve been working in audit for 3+ yrs at a top 20 firm, but im thinking about moving onto big 4 for some better experience. im also trying to figure out what i want to do for the rest of my life. i work in nyc, but im not sure if id like to do that for ever, especially when i have a wife, kids ect, im not going to want to be trekking into the city, ill probably want something in the suburbs somewhere.
i do have a couple ideas that im currently looking into including hedge fund, private equity, wealth management (where im thinking i could set up my own shop), corporate finance or transaction advisory. i dont think i want to do tax, which i know is big for wealth management and HF. my only reservation is, if i go into say HF there are more than enough jobs in nyc, but maybe not in the nj suburbs. connecticut is always an option, which i would be open to.
as you can tell i have a lot to figure out, but does anyone work in any of these industries that could shed some light upon possibly doing one long term?
