What are CPE courses like/about and how useful are they?

They can be literally ANYTHING, some are quick and easy “how to make a pivot table in excel” that take about 3.5 minutes to finish but only give 1/2-1 CPE unit, others are huge and intense with a 400 page book on individual taxation but give 40 CPE units. Rule of thumb but I don't necessarily agree is 1 hour equals 1 cpe unit.

How useful they are is entirely up to you. I did the quickbooks proadvisor training for I think 40 CPE units that I found very valuable, and I've done bunches of CPE garbage that was useless to me. Usually I pick a few that I find interesting, a few that I think will help me at work, then a bunch that are basically garbage and I can go straight to the test because its so easy.
