I am curious, I have been preliminarily applying to a few Big 4 positions across the country and have received a few requests to schedule an interview and have also received a few application denial letters.
There is a location in particular I would like to obtain a position but they sent me a denial letter. One of the requirements for that position is to be licensed, so once I complete the exam I’d imagine with my background and experience they would likely offer the opportunity to interview with them then at that time.
My question is, in the denial letter the recruiter left their name, whereas usually for the lower-level associate level positions typically the e-mails were completely generic (i.e. “Sincerely, The Recruiting Team”).
Since they left their name in the e-mail (but no contact information), do you think it would be okay to contact the recruiter directly to begin establishing a relationship with them? Or would you advise against it?
I have about 6 years of public accounting experience and plan to have the exam completed by the end of the year.
