Hi guys, I was hoping someone could help me answer a question regarding hiring at a larger firm. Is it common to hire experienced auditors in the offseason, say February/march?

It might depends on where you are. There are accounting jobs year round where I am. Though most are for candidates with 3+ years of experience.

    BEC: 85 8/31/13
    FAR: 87 10/27/13

I don't know how the job market is like in Phoenix. But in NY you can always find opening year round, even right after busy season. Though employers are finicky about who they hire and where the candidates are coming from.

There will always be hiring throughout the year, especially with small firms. Larger firms usually try to fill their needs through recruiting season. However, I've seen people hired at large firms off season if they have strong connections or the firm has an immediate need. (Many people left at once)

Since you are in Phoenix, take a look at REDW.

I'll be honest and say I haven't dealt with the Arizona office. I have dealt with the Albuquerque office and they were a looked upon favorably among fellow students as well as myself. The atmosphere was more relaxed then some offices I've visited and I loved the recruitment team and employees I met.
