Hi everyone,

Just wanted ask a dilemma that I have been having for a while.

I am currently a first year associate for one of the big 4 in the advisory/consulting business lines (IT auditing). Right now, I have a chance to transfer into financial audit to work on my attestation designation on my CPA.

So my question is, is the whole attest designation worth it? It might help my business case if I ever want to become partner (10-20 years down the line, lol) but right now, it will affect my short term prospects and might delay my promotions in the short term. I know that it is really hard to get the designation further along you are in your career, so it might be a “now or never” kind of deal.

In any case… first world problems… lol
