Anyone in OKC? Salary question

I was wondering if anyone here is in the OKC area? My wife is currently considering a position out there, and I’m having some issue finding A reliable salary range for a Sr or manager level accountant(both actual job postings and salary guides). Most of my research claims the average is right around 60-65k. I’m not real happy with that. Though I’ve only been licensed less than a year, I do have almost 12 yrs experience. 8 of which are at a small firm(small businesses, tax, and nfp/gov’t audit). The other 4 are in private as a controller at a heavy equipment dealership(revenues around 12m). I currently live in a similar COL area making in the low to mid 70s per year. If we move, I don’t want to take a pay cut.

Did you try the Robert Half guide?
Not always the most accurate but if you use the website you can narrow in on local areas pretty well.

I don't think this is accurate. I live in OKC and I'm an an oil and gas accountant, 60k is what entry to mid-level make but you are far passed that so you should be getting higher than what research is telling you. Reach out to Parker and Lynch, tell them what you want and where you want to be salary wise and they'll more than likely help. Ask for Jennifer.

Keep in mind too that COL is a lot lower in OKC that it is other states. O&G is the big thing here in OKC and mergers/acquisitions and layoffs are pretty cyclical. Heard that Devon Oil is about to go through another round of layoffs. Here is a good link to an energy related website with current info. https://www.okenergytoday.com/category/activity-in-oklahoma/

O&G isn't the only party in town, but it's a big part of it. Most people aren't old enough to remember the oil bust in the 80s here in Oklahoma. I do. We do also have Tinker Air Force Base with a large part made up of civilian employees. Every time there is a change as to which political party is in the WH, we of course go through the discussion about whether the base will be up for closure. Boeing is fairly decent size.

Whatever you do, I wish you good luck!
