I started the process to get an EFIN for my new firm several weeks ago.

Got an e-services account. They sent me a letter in the mail with a code to confirm the account. Done and Done.

However the EFIN application site has been down for weeks, apparently the IRS is changing who it uses to process this application/background check.

Does anyone have ANY information on this at all? I’m terrified I’ll send out engagement letters/invoices for downpayments next month and then won’t be able to E file returns come January.

REG- Passed
BEC- Passed
AUD -Failed - Retake in October
FAR- Scheduled 8/1/2016

I'm a VITA site coordinator. They are redoing E-Services. I believe it should be up before the end of the month.

E services is back up as of yesterday. Hopefully they are honest about sending more people to help with the back log and the new applications. Its been causing me some troubles and concerns as well.
