    Hi,

I am taking an exam in the County of Santa Clara, CA to qualify for Accountant/Auditor-Appraiser. Anyone have any experience on what may be on this exam and what they test for?

I have taken many government tests. If you are studying for the CPA or have passed the CPA, you shouldn't have any problem with these written exam.

They are likely going to test your excel skills, but don't be too worried about that. I've taken 2 tests for government jobs and they both requested that I build a fairly simple budget-to-actual spreadsheet linked to existing data.

Otherwise, they are going to test you for basic accounting knowledge. Nothing even close to the level of detail in your FAR studies. I'm sure you've already done this for your interview prep, but in case you didn't you should take a look at their last audit and/or annual report just to be on the safe side.
