I passed my last exam in February and have been applying ever since. The only relevant experience I have on my resume is a 3-month accounting internship at a non-public firm from 2016 and have my masters from last August. I have been applying for everything I come across, regardless of location.
Last Monday I heard back from a recruiter who works for a Big 4 firm (not sure if this forum allows names) about a position I applied for last week. I wasn’t expecting it because I don’t have the experience. Anyways the position is not where I currently live (Charlotte, NC) but he double checked where I wanted to work and told me that Charlotte is fine for the role. We connected on a call the next day and talked for 15 minutes. The first thing he told me was that he was made aware that someone else from the firm was also planning to contact me regarding another role on the same day (coincidence) and asked if I heard anything, which I didn’t. Anyways he proceeded to talk about the first role and it was mainly him talking.
After he explained the role, he said that I should get a call from a senior manager next and that the interviews would be in NY or Dallas and asked about salary. He asked if I had any questions and I asked him about the second role that he mentioned at the beginning of the call, just to consider all the opportunities, and he said that he will let them know and I should also hear about it. He concluded by saying that I will probably be contacted by the end of this week.Sorry for the long post. My question is, is it rare to get contacted by a big 4 firm for someone with minimal experience? And do I have any chance going forward for this role? Other big 4?
Thanks in advance
