I am sitting for my final CPA exam (BEC) in two weeks and, if my luck holds, will be entering the world of public accounting shortly thereafter. I came from a small university without any CPA firm connections so, after trying for a few months to get a public accounting job after college, I decided to pass all four sections and then try again.
I have been working as the staff accountant at a locally owned restaurantretail chain managing their $20 million books. For a majority of my time there I was the only accountant on staff so no CPA will be able to sign for my hours. This will leave me with 4 exams finished and a year of (ineligible) experience.
What advice do you have for me as I try to break into the field of public accounting?
FAR: 82
AUD: 81
