Has anyone taught as an online adjunct professor? I am thinking about trying this out as a side gig for some extra cash. I like the idea of teaching online courses as I did not most my degrees via distance learning, but don’t know if it would be a good idea to start teaching them. Has anybody had any experience with any specific schools they would like to share? What do they look for in a candidate? And most importantly, how much do they pay?

I'm interested in this as well. Following

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

Yes I know this is a capitalist society, and we all want to make more money. But if you don't have a passion for teaching, don't do it. You get to impart knowledge. It is a big deal.

I have, but not for long. I'm sure people who've done it for a while get more proficient but when I figured out my pay per semester vs the hours I put in it wasn't worth the time away from my family locked in my dining room doing lesson plans and grading. Have to do it because you LOVE teaching which I do but prefer to volunteer with younger kids than college age.

There was a period of several years where the only employment I could find was adjunct teaching, some online and some in the classroom. After knocking myself out for $10/hour, that's why I decided to retrain in accounting.
