Hi all,
Here is my professional background briefly:
1) 2011: graduated law school.
2) 2012: admitted to state bar.
3) 2014: began accounting courses.
4) 2018: passed CPA exams (and earned accounting certificate which is less than a bachelor’s degree)
5) January 2019: began public accounting position at mid-size firm in tax.
6) June 2019: let go from said position.I now need to do what I can in order to get back on my feet so, if nothing else, I can get my one year experience and get my damn CPA license. I’m concerned and worried about my age (33) and the fact that I was let go from my previous position. I’m updating my resume with a professional.
What are your general thoughts, ideas, suggestions as to a plan of action? I’m also going through coursera excel courses so I can change my excel skills from proficient to advanced or expert. I’m located in the NYC area.
Thank you.
