This is related to a recent post of mine about traveling as an accountant. I’d like to spend the next few years living in different places around the world and was wondering if anyone had any information about accounting jobs that can be done over the internet to fund this type of living/travel.

I've heard of some top notch accounting consultants doing this. Usually it's small companies and there is some length of work already performed so there is a trust level there. It does exist but it's not common…..you have the best shot as an independent consultant…..

Thanks for all the new input. The idea of specializing in taxes for expats is definitely something I had never heard of before. Do some CPAs really only work during accounting season?

@Lilla- After some experience I'd also like to look into being an instructor (not a Phd Prof). I've gotten mixed messages about how difficult this is with only a Master's. Summers off would be the answer though!
