I know that a lot of people use job-search engine like Indeed.com or careerbuilder.com. But one thing about these websites is that they don’t provide you all the information, especially the local accounting firm info. Here is my secret: searching “CPA LLP XXX(your targeted city)” on google.com or yahoo.com. You will see a lot of available accounting firms around you area. Some of the firms are huge-with 500-1000 accountants, while some are small-2 or 3 partners and less than 20 employees. It relies on your research then. I found over 50 local accounting firm in my area, in which about 10 or 15 firms are hiring for candidates like me. So far got 1 interview appointment from a BDO Seidman member firm.

    Hope you all enjoy it.

Works without the LLP, too. Also, a good ol' fashioned phone book and yellow pages can be good if you're in the region you're seeking a job in. Looking up and contacting firms randomly like this is how I got my first accounting job. 🙂 There's a lot of unposted jobs due to the employer not wanting to deal with the hundreds of applications that would be received.
