I just started at a Big 4 in audit, and was wondering what skills I can be expected to learn besides the typical accounting skills. My plan is to work here for about 2 years but I would like to transition into another aspect of business, such as HR.

Can anyone please give some insight into this? Thanks

I think there are many transferable skills you learn from public accounting. Outside of the audit itself, its basically business consulting. I learned how to communicate with executives, focus on the financial big picture, coach and mentor staff, build my network, etc. The opportunities to work on your soft skills are awesome in public accounting.

    BEC - 68, 76
    AUD - 90, 91
    FAR - 63, 83
    REG - 55, 79

    FINALLY DONE!
