Start at big 4 before having 150

    My start date for a big 4 firm is in january. I will have 145 credits and will have passed reg aud and bec at this point… will not having 150 credits yet be an issue?

    Having the 150 is usually a pre-req for joining a B4 firm….you might get your offer rescinded once you have to show your transcript to their background checkers…

    You should check out the UNA/CPA Excel classes. You could do 2 easily while preparing for the exam and have them done and units earned by January. I did 5 of them this summer while working full time and I have 2 kids and I'm studying for the CPA exam.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
    BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
    I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

    I actually just went thru this situation a month ago. I had a start date in early September with a big 4. I had 149 credits and figured I would be able to start and finish a class this semester no biggie. When the recruiter realized this, he had to ask for permission for me to start which didn't go thru. My start date was changed to after I complete the class.

    Gives me plenty of time to study for the exam so its all good with me. 99% you're offer will still stand but your start date will most likely be postponed. They are very flexible as they have plenty of employees and you starting a few months later will do no harm.

    If you need quick credits, check out LSU Online Distance Learning. Roughly 600 bucks for the class and you can finish in 9 weeks.

    Currently taking LSU Distance Learning for Ed Requirements.

    Testing (and hopefully passing) in 2015!
