Here’s the situation, I got an offer from a mid-tier CPA firm in NYC and just started my first week. Then I got called by the big four firm that they would like to give me an offer. Another big four firm also wants to give me an offer. I feel a little anxious because my current firm has good environment and people are nice. If I need to resign, what good reasons should I say in order not to burn the bridge? But I think big four is a good opportunity I cannot miss out. What do you guys think the future of Hedge Fund Tax(partnership) vs. Indirect Tax (VAT) ? Thank you

Ok let me provide more details regarding these two positions. So the VAT job would be mainly helping multinational companies enter foreign markets. So it's more consulting/planning role and client focused.

The hedge fund tax job is more compliance role which is partnership tax return preparation/reviewing so it's tax returns focused.

Any other updated thoughts on this topic? Thank you so much.

The process of VAT job takes very long to get a final decision. The partner is a nice guy I communicated with him through email a couple times. He gave me a lot of confidence.

The process of hedge fund tax job takes very short time to give me an offer. The hr is nicer than the vat job hr. The people there are nice to me however the NYC office is long desk people sitting together without cubicles.

What does that mean, you don't actually have an offer?

    BEC - PASS (79)
    AUD - PASS (63, 71, 74, 74, 83)
    REG - PASS (88)
    FAR - PASS (58, 89)

Becker for all + FAR 10 Point Combo

Hi I already got the two written offers. I meant the process in one big four is longer than the other one. I don't know whether that indicates that one firm is actually likes me better. Thanks!
