Recent Big 4 Office Visit Experience – I finally sold myself to Big 4

I had my office visit on Friday with one of the Big 4 firm in the Bay Area. I had two 30 minutes interviews, one with the partner and another one with a manager. When I checked in at the front desk, there was a greeter waiting for me. The interview was really casual, unlike what I have seen on glassdoor. They just asked me some simple questions about myself and what i like to do outside of work. Both the partner and the manager were extremely nice. The manager did warn me about the hours during the busy season. I got a call from the partner in the afternoon and he extended me an offer over the phone. (the actual paper work will be done next week). overall the experience was very pleasant and I finally sold myself to BIG 4. Kinda excited but also very nervous.

Thank you, everyone, for all your help!

congrats! What was your work experience before if you don't mind me asking? Are you going in as a staff?

I am thinking about applying at big 4 as well soon.

Nice, pretty similar to me. I have one year at a local firm as well and am waiting on my last score. Did they offer you a higher salary than grads because of your 1 year or that you are almost done with CPA? Or it was the same as others.

    Congrats on the new job!

One question though, how did you get an interview and offer in April? Most hiring is done in the fall. Was this through a recommendation or are you experienced? Just curious if they are changing up their standard recruiting calendars. Another possibility is just having insatiable need for staff and seniors. I was on a SF area project and the office was flooded with work to their eyeballs.

I have not yet receive the official offer letter yet so I am not sure about the salary, and yes, i was recommended by an employee.

As far as getting offers in the spring, many firms pick up new business over the course of the winter and their immediate needs grow, or sometimes, they just realized they need a couple of more people. I have a slew of interviews in the next couple of weeks from mid-size to regional, and one big 4….I'm hoping for some good news. Congrats on landing the Big 4 job…I'm sure you'll do great.
