All, I have a silly question that I am afraid to ask, so I hope I can get some answer here.

I accepted an offer from Deloitte to start next year Fall. My cell phone contract will be end in about a month. I am deciding whether to go ahead and signup with AT&T now and get the employee discount when I start working with Deloitte. I know Deloitte pays part of your bill. However, I am wondering if Deloitte is also paying for the cellphone as well. I just don’t want to spend a couple hundred dollars myself if the company is paying for it.

I know it is a silly question but I appreciate if some who may know can answer my question.

Same question as original poster, except wondering about PwC. What do they cover for new staff employees? My plan is over and deciding what to do. I start with them in a month.

Interested in what PwC covers for new employees as well. Phone, Plan, Carrier discounts?

PwC allows you to transfer your cell phone plan so that the carrier bills PwC directly. This was a nice perk, since it basically was like an additional $100 in monthly compensation since I no longer had to pay for my cell phone bill.

As for phones, people had iPhones, Androids, etc. Older versions can be free, whereas the newer versions you may have to pay a discounted out-of-pocket cost for.

Outside of my carrier (Verizon), I didn't pay much attention to what other carriers could be used.

They will explain this all to you during your first training. It's probably safe to say that you'll be happy with what they offer.

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

Anyone at Deloitte using Samsung's Galaxy Note 2? I'm thinking about getting a Note 3 if allowed…

Does anyone use two phones? Wondering if I should just transfer my personal phone to my work phone instead of holding onto two phones when I start next month.

On the flip, it might be nice to use an iphone & android. xD

Just looking for any experiences/advice, thanks!

@I just love this – KPMG does not cover phones until you get promoted to manager, or are a senior in one of the specialized advisory practices.

dksmoove, I saw quite a few people maintain a work phone (paid for by their firm) and their own personal phone; however, it seemed like most people that did this were part of a family plan (paid for by their parents, in a lot of cases), so it probably didn't cost them much to keep their personal phone.

Personally, I didn't see a reason to keep a second phone. It just seems like a waste of money.
