Question regarding Big 4 Cellphone

All, I have a silly question that I am afraid to ask, so I hope I can get some answer here.

I accepted an offer from Deloitte to start next year Fall. My cell phone contract will be end in about a month. I am deciding whether to go ahead and signup with AT&T now and get the employee discount when I start working with Deloitte. I know Deloitte pays part of your bill. However, I am wondering if Deloitte is also paying for the cellphone as well. I just don’t want to spend a couple hundred dollars myself if the company is paying for it.

I know it is a silly question but I appreciate if some who may know can answer my question.

As far as I know all the Big4 will cover your phone unless you want the newest latest and greatest, which are only supplemented.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

Deloitte will pay for an iphone for you. I would assume they also have Blackberries. PwC currently has Blackberries paid for and will have Android and Iphones within a month or so.

If you're interested in a non-blackberry, I'd hold up and see what the firm will allow when you join. We've been hearing it forever at EY, but supposedly iPhone and Andoid support will be coming soon, allowing us to connect to corporate e-mail. I'd hate to lock into a BB contract and then learn in a month or two that iPhone or Android is allowed (if you don't truly want BB).

At EY, there's a tiered “communications” monthly reimbursement limit – Staff get up to X, Seniors get up to Y, and Mgr-up get up to Z. It's up to you to choose what that means – be it a wireless card, phone costs, or both. The firm will not reimburse for hardware, only business usage on monthly plans up to the limit. For example, my Verizon Blackberry Data, Text, and Voice comes in around $116 a month. I say it's 75% office usage, so I request about $86 a month in reimbursement.

I'm glad that this is the case. I am starting at Deloitte in September and taking a pay cut to do so – so this will help a bit!!

    REG – 63

    BEC – 70

    AUD – 4/21/2012

    FAR – 6/21/2012

Deloitte will pay for your phone (up to $200 + tax), and for a very basic plan. I think I get 200 minutes or something ridiculous like that haha.

The Company says 80% work related, 20% personal related for your phone bill is acceptable. So yes, you can save a lot on your monthly phone bill if you want to use it (but don't go this route if you do call a lot)

    B - (4/2012)
    A - (5/2012)
    R - (1/2012) Done!
    F - (10/2011) Done!
