PwC Employee Referral Program

I have a couple of people in my family who work at PwC.

One of them has been with the company for 4 years and is now a Senior Tax Associate. I have asked him to forward my resume to HR but he said that he can’t do that until he becomes a Manager. I’m getting the feeling that he just does not want to do it because we aren’t that close. My resume is also not that impressive either and I have a couple of resume gaps due to some personal issues. I also do not have any real accounting experience outside of my coursework. Do you really need to be a manager to refer someone to the firm or am I just getting snubbed?

The other family member is a Manager at PwC in another country. Would she be able to refer me to a PwC office located in the United States?

I work at another Big 4. I think anyone can refer you. There are rules around referral bonuses when a college hire brings in another college hire, mostly because college hires will probably have a bunch of friends. Focus on your CPA, and you will eventually surpass your family member 🙂

My point was that there are no restrictions surrounding Sr Associate > Associate referrals…at least I don't think?

It is true. I am in PwC and I asked Hr about it and it is not possible to refer people who are currently in school or recent graduates. Needs to be someone who is experienced (guessing at least 1 year or more) and is currently working in accounting/tax/auditing.

Even if he does refer you, it will not be very effective at this stage. But dont give up.

Focus on the cpas and try to gain some work experience and later try again.
