One piece of advice, use proper English. You only “have” one year not you only “got” one year.

    R PASS
    A PASS
    B PASS
    F AUGUST

Be confident in your abilities. In fact, write down all your skills, all relevant stories that you can bring up during the interview of how you 1) learn quickly 2) help others 3) are resourceful 4) are EASY TO WORK WITH (you have no idea how important that is at a big 4, etc. Sleep well, and listen to them closely.

    Good luck!

    Hey u guys ! Thanks a lot …

    @jamesjohnson11
… that could be a problem since i didnt really grow up in the states, english is my second language ! but i try my best…

@Zaiitz3 I thought you had great advice's … I hope to implement them next time …

it was a screening … was about 5 minutes … asked me about the industries i worked in and said she'll contact me again in a couple of months … i'm not sure if that was a good bye … or if she was interested !

if some1 could interpret that … i am all ears !

You have another advantage if English is your 2nd language and you made it this far in the US.

What is an “experienced phone interview”? Is there a different recruiting process for those of us who are not current college students and who have been working?

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

I had a phone interview before as a working adult for a non-accounting firm position. It depends on the company and how they interview candidates. Probably for convenience. Often results in an in person interview once they weed out the phone interviews. I think this is a good idea when there are a lot of potential candidates.

@katiekanton yup ! even when u go to public accounting firms websites you will find that there is a section for experienced and section for students… i was also surprised that there was a whole team for experienced recruiting !!! I hope that i do actually get to meet them !!:P > since i am looking for an interview …

It should be different … the want to know whether your experience would be comparable and would help you in your Job at the new firm … or would they need to start all over again with you … software … types of clients you have experience with …

however for me ! i'm back to school after less than year of work in public accounting ! not sure where i should be knocking doors ! i'm doin it on both sides …

Good to know. Good luck with your new schooling. Twice as much exposure to recruiters can't hurt.
