If a person makes partner in a Big 4 after working 10 or more years, how much would he or she make, at least initially?

A few hundred thousand. Varies from firm to firm, how much business you bring in, etc. The early partners are making seven figures. Newer partners (probably that 10-15 year mark) are probably making $250k – $400k.

Mini's pretty dead on. The buy in is pretty steep, so most newly admitted partners opt to have it taken out of their distributions. Senior partners (depending on where you live), bank about $750,000 to $1,250,000 (all hearsay, however).

In addition, it also varies significantly by office to office within the same firm. A partner in Boise or Iowa is going to make less than a partner in Silicon Valley or New York.

umm chances are you wont make partner after 10 years…..and if you do then that means you had no life for the last 10 years and probably wont have a life for another 10 years. partners probably start at 250 but the cost to buy in is probably like half a million…..not to mention you are responsible for anything you sign and can go to prison.
