Out of Town overnight policy

    Hi All,

I was just wondering what your firms (Big 4 and Mid-Tier (GT,BDO,McG)) policy is for determining if an out of town client requires an overnight stay. I’m going into advisory at GT and I was wondering if I’ll be doing overnight stints or I’m going to be commuting a lot. I know the practice is regional, and that they have a decent amount of clients in the LA area, but I’ll be coming from around 60 miles away making it a 120 mile commute roundtrip + the hell of LA traffic. Anyone out there with this experience?

    Thanks!

    At D&T I think 50 or 60 miles one way = hotel

This is something you would discuss with your manager on the job. Either way you'd make a killing on gas reimbursement.

    FAR - 74 (1/5/2013); 80 (5/30/2013)
    BEC - 81 (7/21/2013)
    AUD - 72 (8/30/2013); 71 (10/14/2013); 79(1/10/2014)
    REG - 85 (12/5/2013)

I heard GT doesn't reimburse for gas/mileage/tolls/parking. Is that true?

During my internship, GT would reimburse for the excess mileage from the office to the client site. I can't recall if they reimbursed for the parking fees when we were in the office, but my guess is not.
